About
Raised in America, GAAYATRI embodies the rare duality of a lineage artist and a global creative force — and her music has been everywhere you didn't know to look for it.
Over the past decade, she has graced some of the most celebrated A-list productions in global cinema and media. Across Marvel, Disney, and DreamWorks, and even internationally on ZeeTV, her voice threads through defining cultural moments — Wicked, Avatar: Fire and Ash, Ms. Marvel, and beyond. She has sung with AR Rahman, Billie Eilish, Camila Cabello, Justin Timberlake, Carlos Santana, and Angélique Kidjo.
As a music creator, she brings a multilingual voice to the global stage — writing and performing original songs in Telugu, Hindi, and English, and scoring original music for film and television — with compositions performed at Carnegie Hall and Lincoln Center. Her most landmark achievement came with Marvel's What If…?, where she composed "Jeet Hai Hamari" — a first-of-its-kind fusion of Bollywood and 1930s Hollywood Big Band Jazz that brought Indian sonic identity to the global stage in a way it had never been heard before.
Her approach to music creation is rooted in a deep foundation of Indian classical music — its rigorous ear training, intricate understanding of rhythm and melody, and a profound understanding of sound as an experience that moves listeners from deep within. Growing up immersed in her Guru's masterclasses, surrounded by a vast range of Indian and world instruments, she developed a natural fluency in orchestration and arrangement that is woven into everything she creates. That foundation is expanded further by an ethnomusicology degree from UCLA, production studies at Berklee College of Music, and years working alongside AR Rahman, first as an intern and later as a studio assistant. Having collaborated with world musicians since her teenage years, she moves fluidly across global musical systems with a fluency that is rare — crafting music that honors the authentic aesthetic and ethos of every culture it represents with respect and dignity, while crossing boundaries to resonate with listeners everywhere.
